Yikes! I'm Exiting!

When I first came to Canada, I was very intimidated by the 4 to 6 lane highways... I hated driving on them so for the first few months after getting my Canadian driver's license, I would go to places through the side streets, I always found a way. Then it came a day and my better half asked me if I wanted to continue living life in fear, wow! I had never processed the thought that far, that it was fear keeping me off the highways.

So me being the person that I am who loves a good challenge, decided it was time I got on the highway, and the first day, I cautiously got on the 401, one of our major highways in Toronto. I followed all the signs, kept to the speed limit of 100 km/hr and stayed on the right hand side...only to discover after a few minutes of driving, yikes! I'm exiting...! You see, most of the right hand lanes lead to ramps whereby you exit out of the 401, and as I checked around me, I discovered it was too late to change lanes.

"What is the worst that could happen", I thought to myself...I'll exit and come back on again,.. so that's exactly what I did. I exited, did a turn somewhere and got back on the 401 again without a hitch! And I thought, "that was easier than I expected!"
So when you think there's no way out of a situation and you feel like you're at a dead end, you're actually not...you're only exiting briefly, catching your breath and getting back on again, because there is ALWAYS a way out of ANY situation no matter how bad it looks! So just 'exit' out of the craziness of the moment into the Father's arms, rest. and re-fire!

Oh, and by the way, my son got his license this year and the first thing I let him know as he got on the highway was, "Don't stress out if you come upon an exit ramp and can't switch lanes on time, just exit and you can get back on again; so just relax"...

He loves you and delights in you a lot!

An Allegory of Deliverance

"She felt her wrists and realized the chains were no longer there...they had fallen off in the blinding flash of light that came forth few seconds ago. But the cave was still dark,, and she could still hear the growls of the dogs outside as they circled the entrance of the cave...something they did every night to ensure she didn't escape. Was she dreaming...or hallucinating...? Or was she really free...? If the latter, how would she leave without the dogs tearing her to pieces...?

She inched to the entrance of the cave then shrank back in fear as she spied the huge dogs circling the entrance...she stretched out her hand to steady herself on the cave walls and...waoh! They went right through as she let out a muffled scream...what-t-t-t! I'm invisible...or something similar...am I dead...? And then it hit her, the flash of light had made her invisible...her body was transformed to another substance, the kind that went through walls...did this mean...? She walked slowly and fearfully out of the cave, watching the dogs closely, it was as if she was invisible...she was! She walked right past all 4 of them and then broke into a run...freedom!"

Psalm 124:7-8 "We escaped like a bird from a hunter's trap. The trap is broken, and we are free! Our help is from the Lord, who made heaven and earth" (NLT version).

He delights in you, that's why He sent Jesus to die for your freedom!
